Holy Trinity is a beautiful place to celebrate the big day. Christian marriage is a joyful event when two people commit themselves to each other in love, make solemn promises to one another, and receive God’s blessing on their new beginning.
If you’d like to be married in Holy Trinity, do get in touch so we can talk through the possibilities.
Who can be married here?
If you live within the parish, you can.
If you regularly worship here, you can.
Other ways of qualifying for marriage in a Church of England parish church are:
- if you have worshipped here in the past for at least 6 months
- if you have previously lived within the parish for at least 6 months
- if your parents have lived within the parish during your lifetime for 6 months
- if you were baptized or confirmed here
- if your parents or grandparents were married here
What does it cost?
The basic fees, which are set across the Church of England, are £456 in 2017. This includes the legal preparations, the certificate and registration, and the wedding itself. On top of that, there are local fees, depending on what you want: these include the organist, choir, flowers and so on.
One of us has been divorced.
Please get in touch. In most cases, it’s perfectly possible for someone who has been divorced to be married in church. God wants to bless your new beginning, and the Church is glad to be part of that.
What about same-sex marriage and civil partnerships?
It’s not legally possible for these celebrations to be registered in the Church of England, but we’d love to be part of your day. We can schedule something for directly after you’ve been to the Register Office or at a later time. Do get in touch so we can talk about what we’re able to offer to make God part of this important new beginning.
